2015 Ford F-150 vs 2015 Chevrolet Colorado features, specs review, and comparison
The 2015 Ford F-150 is the brand new aluminum body truck from Ford. Ford has shaved unnecessary weight from their truck by using lightweight aluminum body panels. The truck is getting competition from the likes of 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. The Colorado Chevy is a smaller and lighter truck and is a fuel-efficient option.
The F-150 which uses new materials weighs 700 lbs less than he outgoing model which helps in improving acceleration and efficiency. However, the 2015 Chevy Colorado weighs 4329 lbs and because it’s a small truck it is fun to drive and is easier to park. The changes brought by Ford in the 2015 F-150 are significant and its material makes the exterior of the car more aerodynamic. The Colorado weighs 1000 to 1400 lbs less than a normal full-size pick-up in the market thanks to its smaller size and lightweight aluminum.
The Ford F-150 is available with four engines with a new 2.7 litre V-6 EcoBoost engine which uses a number of technologies to improve gas mileage. It also provides an automatic start/stop option in traffic to reduce gas wastage. Colorado on the other hand carries 2 gasoline options- a standard 2.5-litre four cylinder which produces a horsepower of 193 and a 3.6-litre V6 which produces a horsepower of 300. Both the power-trains are equipped with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and Direct Injection to get good fuel efficiency.
Ford and Chevy have focused a lot on fuel efficiency in designing both the trucks with both coming up with lighter body weight.
